Operations
West Lake’s Provost medium oil and Lloydminster heavy oil core operating regions support 80% of our operations.
Through 2024 and 2025, West Lake has been diversifying operations into South-East Saskatchewan. This buildout is spearheaded by the recent purchase of light-oil assets in the region from Axial Exploration in June 2024, and further growth through the January 2025 acquisition of Anova Resources. West Lake’s expansion into this region allows us to tap into new resources and growth opportunities, providing balance to our other core operating areas.
As a diversified oil and gas producer, we employ a variety of artificial lift equipment to optimize production across our wells. Along with primary production methods, we manage and optimize a mix of maturing waterflood patterns as well as newer floods in developing fields. Our portfolio includes a significant amount of lighter oils, typically with an API gravity of 25+, as well as heavy oils with API gravity in the low teens. This blend of production types allows us to effectively maximize recovery and meet a variety of market demands.
At West Lake, the workplace is fast paced, driven by a team of highly competent professionals who are dedicated to both personal and corporate growth. With a production base of ~ 10,000 BOE per day, we have the advantage of gaining in-depth knowledge of our assets on a well-by-well basis, allowing us to make more informed and effective decisions. This close-knit approach fosters a collaborative environment where every team member plays a key role in our success.
Driven by West Lake’s strategy to grow its production base through a multi-year drilling program and focused acquisitions, the Company’s mission remains clear: to be an industry leading intermediate Canadian energy company. This can be achieved while remaining committed to strong regulatory stewardship, prioritizing environmental responsibility, safety, and transparency to ensure we meet and exceed industry standards.
