Robert Cook, CEO

Robert Cook is an energy & finance executive and experienced corporate director with over 37 years of experience in the energy industry, investment management, private equity, and venture capital sectors.  Mr. Cook was formerly a Managing Director at ARC Financial Corp., an energy focused private equity investment manager and a Staff Reservoir Engineer, with global assignments, at a major multi-national oil & gas exploration company. Mr. Cook holds a B.Sc. in Engineering from McMaster University and an MBA from the European University, The Hague, Netherlands.  He is a Professional Engineer, Alberta, and a CFA Charterholder.  He has also received his ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and is a member of the Chartered Business Valuators Institute.

Garrett Ulmer, COO

Garrett Ulmer is a professional engineer and private business owner with over 30 years of experience in the energy industry.  He is currently serving as Chief Operating Officer of West Lake Energy, commencing in 2021, with a term as interim CEO from 2023-2024.  Mr. Ulmer was formerly COO at Bellatrix Exploration, a Western Canadian based, growth-oriented oil and gas company, as part of his 12-year term with the company.  He worked in various managerial and technical roles in several Canadian and international oil & gas exploration company prior thereto.  Mr. Ulmer holds a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Victoria and completed the Advanced Management Program at Wharton School of Business.  He has been member of APEGA since 1993.
